How to Play Mega Roulette: Rules, Mega Numbers and a First-Spin Walkthrough

What kind of game is Mega Roulette?

It is a live-dealer European roulette table with a multiplier feature layered on top, streamed 24/7 from Pragmatic Play's studio. The wheel is a physical single-zero wheel with pockets 0 to 36, the dealer is a real person, and the ball is spun by hand. Nothing about the physical game differs from standard roulette.

The feature sits in the software rather than on the wheel. After bets are locked, a graphic sequence picks a handful of Mega Numbers and assigns each a multiplier. Pragmatic Play launched the game in 2021. Evolution's Lightning Roulette shares the same core numbers, including a 29:1 base Straight Up payout and a 97.30% RTP, but it is a competitor from a different studio; Mega Roulette is not an Evolution title.

One fact to keep in mind before you place anything: the 97.30% RTP means a house edge of 2.70% on every bet, multipliers included. The Mega Numbers change how the money arrives, not how much of it comes back on average.

Where do the Mega Numbers come from and what do they do?

The Mega Numbers are chosen at random by the game software after betting closes, and they only affect Straight Up bets. Here is the sequence in a single spin.

Betting closes and the table graphic changes. Between 1 and 5 numbers are highlighted on the grid, each tagged with a multiplier of 50x, 100x, 150x, 200x, 250x, 300x, 350x, 400x or 500x. The dealer then spins the ball. If it settles in a pocket that was highlighted, any Straight Up chip on that number is paid at the displayed multiplier. If it settles anywhere else, Straight Up chips on the winning number pay 29:1 and the Mega Numbers for that spin expire.

Three numbers is the standard picture, two is common, and one or five turn up on roughly 1 spin in 36 each. Averaged out, a spin carries 2.67 Mega Numbers, and that figure drives every probability in this game. With 2.67 of 37 pockets multiplied, the ball should hit one 7.2% of the time. Our data says 7.24% over 111,542 spins. The ball has no idea which pockets are lit up, and the numbers show it.

The multipliers themselves skew small. Of every Mega Number shown in the last 90 days, 35.75% carried 50x and 37.50% carried 100x. The 500x tag appeared on 1.85% of them. How is the betting layout arranged?

The layout is the classic European table with the addition of a multiplier display, and it splits into three zones.

The number grid. Zero at the head, then 1 to 36 in three columns of twelve. Chips placed inside this grid are inside bets: on a single number, on the line between two, on a row of three, on the corner of four, or across two rows of six. This is the only zone where Mega Multipliers can pay.

The outside boxes. Below and beside the grid: the three dozens, the three columns, red/black, odd/even and 1-18/19-36. These bets cover large slices of the wheel and pay standard odds regardless of what the Mega Numbers show.

The racetrack. A stylised oval of the wheel in its real order, used for neighbour and section bets such as Voisins, Tiers and Orphelins. Tapping a number on the track places Straight Up chips on that number and its neighbours on either side. Exact section options can vary by operator.

What does each bet pay in Mega Roulette?

Every bet except Straight Up pays exactly what it would on a European table; Straight Up pays 29:1 or a multiplier. The table below lists each bet with its winning chance on a 37-pocket wheel.

Read payouts as "to one". A 5 chip on red that wins gives you 5 profit plus your 5 back. A 5 chip on a single number that wins without a multiplier gives 145 profit plus the stake, 150 in total. The same chip on a number that turns out to be a 500x Mega Number returns 2,500. Operators set a maximum payout per player per spin, commonly 500,000, so the largest bets cannot always collect the full multiplier.

Every row in that table returns 97.30% over the long run. The Straight Up bet gets there by a different route: a smaller base payout, topped up by rare large multipliers. The Mega Roulette RTP page sets the maths out in full and compares it with what our tracker has observed.

Why does Straight Up pay 29:1 instead of 35:1?

Because the multipliers have to be paid for, and the 6 units shaved off every unmultiplied Straight Up win are the price. On a standard European table a winning number returns 36 units per unit staked. In Mega Roulette it returns 30 units, which is 16.7% less.

That reduction is the whole cost of the feature. Pragmatic Play publishes the same 97.30% RTP for Mega Roulette as for plain European roulette, so on average the multipliers hand back exactly what the 29:1 payout takes away. What changes is the shape of the results. Most winning Straight Up bets pay less than they would elsewhere; a small fraction pay far more.

The chance that a spin lands on your number and that number is a Mega Number is 1/37 multiplied by 7.2%, which comes to 0.19%, or about once in 510 spins. A 500x on your specific number is around 0.004% per spin, roughly one in 25,000. Those rare events are what your 6 units per win are buying.

What happens during one spin, from clock to payout?

A full spin lasts about 40 to 50 seconds in our feed, and it runs in five phases.

Betting open. The countdown appears and the previous spin's Mega Numbers have cleared from the grid. Place, move or remove chips freely until the bar runs out. Rebet drops your previous spin's chips back in one tap.

Betting closed, Mega Numbers drawn. The table locks, then the reveal animation picks the Mega Numbers and their multipliers. You cannot react to this. The numbers are drawn after bets close precisely so that nobody can chase a 500x once it is shown.

The spin. The dealer launches the ball against the wheel's rotation. The stream shows the wheel close up as the ball slows.

The result. The winning number is highlighted on the grid and added to the results strip. If it was a Mega Number, the multiplier is displayed prominently and the payout shows the multiplied amount.

Settlement. Winning chips are paid to your balance, losing chips are swept, and within a few seconds the next betting window opens. At 40 to 50 seconds per spin that is about 75 spins an hour, a useful figure for working out what an hour at any stake will cost.

Which Mega Roulette rules confuse new players?

Five points cause most of the complaints in chat, all of them from multiplier rules that differ slightly from what players assume.

The multiplier replaces 29:1, it does not add to it. A 100x Mega Number pays 100:1 on a Straight Up chip. It does not pay 100x on top of the 29:1. Players who expect 129:1 feel short-changed when the payout is exactly what the rules say.

Only Straight Up chips get multiplied. A split covering a Mega Number pays 17:1 when that number wins, full stop. A neighbour bet placed from the racetrack is five separate Straight Up chips, so those do qualify individually, but only the chip sitting directly on the winning number collects the multiplier.

Mega Numbers are not hints. They are drawn after the betting window closes and have no influence on where the ball lands. In 111,542 spins the ball hit a Mega Number 7.24% of the time against a 7.2% expectation. Anyone selling a method to predict them is selling nothing.

Zero is a normal pocket. Zero can be a Mega Number like any other number, and when it wins without a multiplier a Straight Up chip on it pays 29:1. All outside bets lose on zero, which is the source of the 2.70% house edge across the board.

Payout caps are real. With a 5,000 maximum bet and a 500x multiplier, the gross return would be 2,500,000, well past a typical 500,000 per-spin cap. Check the operator's limit before betting large on single numbers.

Does Mega Roulette play the same on mobile?

Yes, with a rearranged layout. Pragmatic Play delivers one game that resizes to the device, so the wheel, the dealer, the Mega Numbers and the payouts are identical whether you are on a laptop or a phone.

In portrait the video sits at the top and the bet grid fills the lower half, with the racetrack behind a toggle. A session of 100 spins therefore gives you a decent chance of a 29:1 win and a small chance of a multiplied one. What to avoid on day one: chasing. If a 500x lands on a number next to yours, nothing about the next spin has changed. The same goes for colours. Our 90-day record includes a run of 17 blacks and a run of 15 reds, and a streak of ten of the same colour has a 0.07% chance of starting on any given spin. It happens, it means nothing, and betting against it is not a system. Mega Roulette adds a second version of the "due" fallacy with "due" multipliers.

The median paid multiplier is 100x, the 90th percentile is 200x, and 500x paid 163 times in 90 days, or about once every 684 spins. The most recent 500x hits at the time of writing came on 2026-08-27 (6 hits), 2026-08-26 (5) and 2026-08-25 (7).

Drought tracker. Spins since the last mega win and since the last 100x-or-better hit. Average gaps are 13.8 and 21.6 spins; the longest gaps in 90 days were 156 and 162. The chance of no mega win across 30 spins is 10.5%, and across 60 spins it is 1.1%, so a long drought is uncommon but expected to show up now and then. It does not make the next spin any more likely to hit.

Is Mega Roulette by Evolution or Pragmatic Play?
