If the winning number was not lit, every straight-up, split, street, corner and line bet pays its ordinary rate and the round ends there. Why does a straight-up bet pay 29:1 instead of 35:1?

Aggregator sources describe the base straight-up payout as reduced from the standard 35:1 down to 29:1 on a normal, unlit win, with the difference funding the bonus pool; we have not confirmed this figure from a primary Playtech document, so treat it as widely reported rather than certified. If it holds, the logic mirrors other multiplier roulette games: a plain European table pays 35 units plus stake on a straight-up win for a 97.30% RTP on that bet, and cutting the payout to 29 units frees up the rest to fund large multiplier wins elsewhere. An unstruck straight-up bet loses value relative to a full-odds table on its own, since 29 units on a 1-in-37 chance sits below the 35 needed for fair odds; what restores the published 97.30% overall RTP is the multiplier pool paying large amounts on the minority of straight-up bets that land on a lit, winning number.
