Abstract

This paper presents a comprehensive empirical analysis of 30 live casino games operated on the Evolution Gaming and Pragmatic Play platforms during Q1 2026, encompassing 3,174,760 observed game rounds collected between January 4, 2026 and March 15, 2026.

We examine bonus trigger frequencies, result multiplier distributions, and segment outcome patterns against certified theoretical values published by game providers. Using the Live Casino Fairness Index (LCFI) — a composite score measuring statistical alignment with theoretical rates — we assess the behavioral characteristics of each title and derive a platform-wide fairness assessment.

Our findings indicate a platform LCFI of 75/100 (Grade B), suggesting moderate alignment with some games showing notable deviations from theoretical baselines. The most consistent performer was Lightning Baccarat (deviation: 0.2%). The highest single multiplier recorded was 20,000x on Crazy Time.

1. Introduction

The live casino segment has grown substantially over the past decade, with Evolution Gaming alone reporting revenues exceeding €1.7 billion in 2024. Unlike traditional Random Number Generator (RNG) slots, live casino games feature physical or semi-physical elements — spinning wheels, dice rolls, dealt cards — broadcast via real-time video stream. This creates a unique observational opportunity: outcomes can be passively collected at scale without interfering with gameplay.

Despite the scale and financial significance of the live casino segment, publicly available empirical data on observed outcome distributions remains scarce. Provider documentation typically discloses theoretical Return-to-Player (RTP) figures and segment distributions, but independent verification of whether observed rates match certified values is rarely performed at scale.

LiveCasinoData.com addresses this gap by continuously collecting game outcomes from 30+ live titles, building a longitudinal dataset now exceeding 2.8 million rounds. This white paper presents the first quarterly analysis drawing on this dataset, covering Q1 2026 (January–March).

Our analysis is structured around three core questions:

  1. Do observed bonus trigger frequencies align with certified theoretical rates?
  2. How do multiplier distributions compare across game categories?
  3. Can a composite fairness index provide a reliable signal for ongoing monitoring?

2. Methodology

2.1 Data Collection

Game outcomes were collected via a passive observation system running on a dedicated server, monitoring official live streams of each title. Results, multipliers, and bonus trigger events are recorded per round. No interaction with casino systems occurred; the system observes only publicly broadcast outcomes.

2.2 Live Casino Fairness Index (LCFI)

The LCFI is a composite score (0–100) computed as follows:

bonus_accuracy = max(0, 100 − |observed_rate − theoretical_rate| / theoretical_rate × 150)
confidence_score = min(100, sample_size / 1000 × 100)
LCFI = 0.75 × bonus_accuracy + 0.25 × confidence_score

This weighting reflects that bonus frequency alignment (75%) is the primary fairness signal, while sample confidence (25%) ensures scores are not inflated by sparse data. Games without published theoretical bonus rates receive partial scores based on confidence alone.

2.3 Theoretical Reference Values

Theoretical RTP and bonus rate figures were sourced from publicly available provider mathematics documentation: Evolution Gaming Certified Math Sheets and Pragmatic Play Certified Game Rules. Where multiple bet types exist (e.g., Banker vs. Player in baccarat), the highest published RTP is reported.

The dataset covers 30 distinct live casino titles across four categories: game shows (wheel-based), roulette variants, baccarat/card games, and dice/ball games. All games are operated under regulatory licenses in European and international jurisdictions, subject to independent RTP certification requirements.

Games are included in analysis only when they have accumulated more than 200 rounds in the Q1 2026 window, ensuring statistical relevance. The minimum sample threshold for the LCFI confidence component to reach full score (100%) is 1,000 rounds.

4. Per-Game Analysis

Table 1 presents the observed metrics for each tracked game alongside certified theoretical values where available. Columns are: rounds observed, observed bonus trigger rate (%), theoretical bonus rate (%), absolute deviation (%), and LCFI grade.

5. Key Findings

Finding 1: Strong Platform-Wide Alignment

The platform LCFI of 75/100 (Grade B) indicates that, in aggregate, observed outcomes across the 30 tracked titles align well with theoretical parameters. This suggests that the independent verification methodology described in Section 2 is detecting genuine patterns in the data.

Finding 2: Most Consistent Performer

Lightning Baccarat exhibited the lowest bonus rate deviation from theoretical at 0.2%, with an observed bonus rate of 14.84% against a theoretical rate of 14.81%. Over 125,844 rounds, this represents a high-confidence result (LCFI: 100/100, A+).

Finding 3: Largest Observed Deviation

Lightning Roulette showed the largest relative deviation from theoretical bonus rates at 92.6%, with observed 7.39% vs theoretical 100%. This may reflect natural statistical variance given the sample size (115,254 rounds) or a genuine distributional shift. Continued monitoring in Q2 2026 will help distinguish between explanations.

Finding 4: Peak Multiplier Event

The highest single-round multiplier in Q1 2026 was 20,000x on Crazy Time. Such tail events, while rare, are characteristic of high-volatility bonus rounds and are consistent with the expected multiplier distributions documented in provider math sheets.

6. Discussion & Policy Implications

The results presented in this paper demonstrate that passive large-scale observation of live casino outcomes is technically feasible and produces statistically meaningful results at sample sizes achievable within a single quarter. The LCFI framework provides a practical tool for ongoing monitoring that could be adopted by regulators as a supplementary verification mechanism alongside existing independent testing laboratory (ITL) certifications.

Several regulatory implications emerge from this analysis:

  1. Continuous Monitoring Complement: Traditional ITL certification is conducted at a point in time, typically on software versions submitted for testing. Passive observation provides a live, continuous signal.
  2. Consumer Transparency: Publication of observed vs. theoretical rates gives players independent verification beyond operator-reported figures.
  3. Early Deviation Detection: Statistical deviations exceeding ±20% relative to theoretical rates warrant investigation, and this threshold should be formalized in monitoring standards.

We note important limitations: this study measures bonus trigger frequency and multiplier distributions, not true RTP (which would require bet amount data we do not collect). The LCFI is a transparency metric, not a certification of fairness. Deviations from theoretical rates may reflect natural variance rather than system irregularities, particularly for smaller sample sizes.

7. Conclusion

This Q1 2026 analysis demonstrates the viability of continuous passive monitoring as a complement to existing regulatory verification frameworks in live casino markets. Across 30 titles and 3,174,760 rounds, the platform achieved an aggregate LCFI of 75/100 (Grade B), with most games demonstrating alignment with certified theoretical parameters.

Future editions of this white paper will include cross-quarter trend comparisons, an expanded responsible gambling observations section tracking drought statistics and volatility patterns, and individual game deep-dives for the most-tracked titles.
