Understanding the Lightning Fee
Every bet includes a mandatory 100% lightning fee. This doubles your actual cost per hand:
| Base Bet | Lightning Fee | Total Cost |
|---|---|---|
| $1 | $1 | $2 |
| $5 | $5 | $10 |
| $10 | $10 | $20 |
| $25 | $25 | $50 |
| $100 | $100 | $200 |
| $5,000 | $5,000 | $10,000 |
Recommended Bet Sizing
Conservative (0.5% of Bankroll)
$500 bankroll:$2.50 base bet
$2,000 bankroll:$10 base bet
Standard (1% of Bankroll)
$500 bankroll:$5 base bet
$2,000 bankroll:$20 base bet
Important Reminder
When calculating bet size, remember your actual cost is 2x your base bet. A $10 base bet costs $20 per hand!
Bankroll Requirements
Due to the lightning fee and variance, we recommend larger bankrolls than standard blackjack:
| Base Bet | Total Per Hand | Min Bankroll | Rec Bankroll |
|---|---|---|---|
| $1 | $2 | $100 | $200 |
| $5 | $10 | $500 | $1,000 |
| $10 | $20 | $1,000 | $2,000 |
| $25 | $50 | $2,500 | $5,000 |
| $100 | $200 | $10,000 | $20,000 |
Double Down & Split Limits
When doubling down or splitting, the additional bet also includes the lightning fee:
Example: $10 Base Bet Double Down
Initial bet + fee$20
Double down + fee$20
Total at risk$40
Limit Summary
Min Base Bet$1
Min Total Cost$2
Max Base Bet$5,000
Max Total Cost$10,000
Lightning Fee100%
Key Insight
Always think in terms of total cost, not base bet. A $100 "bet" actually costs you $200 per hand including the lightning fee.
